In high school, Kelly was an Eagle Ambassador, served on Student Council, and was inducted into the National Honor Society. She was also class valedictorian.

She played tennis all four years at Chaminade Julienne and earned these honors:

• First Team All-State
• Greater Catholic League (GCL) Athlete of the Year
• First Team All-GCL honors for three straight years
• District and Sectional champion
• Ohio High School Athletic Association Sportsmanship Award recipient
