Dear St. Chris Parents,
Here is an attempt to cover all things “Car Rider Line.” These guidelines are necessary to keep all of our children safe. That is our priority and it need it to be your priority too.
Here we go…
Car Rider Line AM
Here is an outline of our Car Rider Morning Drop Off Procedure. It is very similar to last year- We will be making adjustments as we need.
Disclaimers
- It will be a crazy few days as we all get in the groove!
- We will have plenty of hands outside to help guide all the cars.
- There might be traffic backed out to National Road to start. That is okay! It happens every year. Once we are in a routine, things all fall into place.
- If adjustments need to be made, we will make them.
Drop Off Window: 7:30am to 7:45am
School Start Time: 7:45am
- Students must be in their chairs by 7:45am.
- Doors will lock at 7:45am.
- If a student arrives after 7:45am, he/she must go to the main office doors and check in with the office before going to homeroom.
Two Entry Doors: To facilitate the short drop off window, there are two entrances
- Kindergarteners-3rd Graders will enter through the Connector Doors.
- 4th-8th Graders will enter through the North Doors.
- Mixed Grades: If you have children in both of the grade bands above, please drop off all children in the K-3 line. They can all enter through the Connector Doors.
MAP
Enter: All cars will enter the church and school parking lots following the green arrow.
Split: (Blue Box on picture above) as you approach the soccer field and turn left/west, the line should split into 2 separate lines (one for K-3 and one for 4-8).
-
Grades K-3 will stay to the left and drop off at the Connector Doors.
-
Grades 4-8 will stay to the right and drop off at the North Doors.
Drop Zone:
-
The yellow arrows indicate our unloading zones for both doors.
-
The beginning and end of the loading zones will be marked with flashing lights.
-
Rain or shine, please use the entire unloading zone. Otherwise, the car line will become too long and students will be late to class.
- Grades K-3 will go to the left and drop off at the Connector Doors. This unloading zone is L-shaped and will be marked with lighted cones at the beginning and end of the unloading zone.
-
Grades 4-8 will go to the right and drop off at the North Doors. This unloading zone includes the entire sidewalk and will be marked with lighted cones. Please pull all the way up.
Walk-Ins:
If you want to walk your child to the door, please park in the designated area, follow the arrows in the map below, avoid crossing car traffic, and walk your child to the Connector Doors (regardless of grade level).
Greeters:
As always, we will have adults at both doors greeting students and helping them with any last minute needs.
Car Rider Line PM
-
Please enter the school parking lot using the same route as the morning route (red).
-
At 2:30PM, the school parking lot will open and you may enter.
-
Park according to the map above. If your last name begins with the letter A through L, please park on the left. You will exit the same way you entered. Letters M through Z park on the right and exit behind the school.
-
Parents should remain in or stay close to their cars at all times so teachers and children can easily find your car and expedite the pick-up process.
-
The lot will close at 2:40PM when children are dismissed from the school building. If you did not make the 2:40PM deadline, please wait until the lot is emptied and the staff member on duty re-opens the lot. Please do not try to drive around the staff member. Especially if it is this pregnant principal- I don’t move as fast as I used to!
-
Park & Walk is not an option during PM Pick-up because it requires a different set up and traffic flow. Please do not park in the Church Parking Lot and walk across the lots.
-
No cars should move until all children are in their cars and a teacher has released you. All cars will be released at the same time.
-
Please wait for a teacher to indicate when it is safe to start moving/exiting.
These guidelines are necessary to keep our children safe. Thank you for taking all of this into consideration before your visit to campus. If you have any questions, please feel free to call or email the office. We are here to help!
