Hello SC Families!
What a crazy last few weeks! I come back from Maternity Leave for like a minute… then a snow storm! This principal is looking to get into some routine.
While the week off was snowy and fun, I’m glad to be back (and I know that the kids are secretly glad, too).
Lots in this email. Hang tight.
Schedule:

A Few Things:
1. It was great to see so many families at the Gala this weekend. It was a wonderful night of community. So blessed to call this place my home! A HUGE THANKS to the Gala Committee for putting together such a special event.
2. Coastal Wilds Permission Slip UPDATE: We got a call today that with all the school cancelations last week, they need to push back our assembly until Monday, February 9. Permission slips are now due on Thursday, February 5. We need time to organize the permission slips and money. Your child must have a signed permission slip to participate in the assembly. Purchasing is optional.
3. We have the Feast of St. Blaise tomorrow! St. Blaise is the Patron Saint of Throat Ailments. Super appropriate for this time of the year! The students will receive a blessing tomorrow 🙂
4. All the Catholic Schools Week Events have been moved to this week. We can’t be missing out on all that fun!
- Monday- Dress as something from the first letter of your name. We had a great pep rally today to kick things off!
- Tuesday- Dress your best and coin wars begin
- Wednesday- Dress in orange and coin wars continue
- Thursday- Dress like a teacher or in your teacher’s favorite color, bring your teacher a flower or nice note, and coin wars continue
- Friday- Dress in pajamas/cozy clothes (OOU appropriate), bring a blanket/stuffed animal (should fit in your backpack), and coin wars end
5. A reminder that the shoe reset went into effect this week. Even with all the out of uniform this week, we need to adhere to the guidelines.
Please make sure your child comes to school wearing proper shoes every day.
This means:
- No Crocs
- No sandal slides/flip flops/clogs
- Shoes should be secure and safe for running, playing, and learning
On Gym Days, students must wear sturdy, fully-enclosed, non-skid shoes so they can fully and safely participate.
6. Conferences are coming up next week on Thursday, February 12 from 3pm-7pm. Teachers will send out requests to families on Wednesday for students that they need to see. For families not contacted, please do not feel the pressure to sign up for conferences. The links will be released for all students on Friday if you would like to sign up.
7. Open House is Sunday, February 22 from 10am-11:30am.
8. Are your kids talking about Bee Bucks? We started our PBIS Rewards Incentive! The students are earning Bee Bucks for BEEING respectful, responsible, safe, and a problem solver. Students have been cashing in their Bucks and enjoying some fun prizes! Let’s keep up the good work!
9. Valentine Gram Order Forms have been extended until Friday, February 6. See attached.

10. Please see the attachment for PTO’s Daughter Dance.

Previous Reminders:
1. Please write your family name in uniform sweatshirts for easier return. Thank you!
2. The text and email features from FACTS will be how I communicate delays and closings. If looking online/tv, we do follow Vandalia Butler.
Have a great week!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Trentman
