10/21 Monday Message

Hello,

Lots happening this week at SC!

Schedule:

A Few Things:

1. I wanted to make you aware of our Tardy Policy:

Tardy Policy

The school day starts promptly at 7:45 AM.  Students are to be in their homeroom at the time the bell rings.  Any student who arrives at the building after 7:45 AM will need to report to the office to sign in. Students with 3 unexcused lates/tardies in a month will receive an after-school detention. Each additional tardy, after the third, will result in a one day suspension. After 3 one day suspensions, this will be considered a Class C offense and the consequence could be expulsion. We are putting an emphasis on punctuality.  Being on time is important to the smooth operation of a school.

This policy will begin in November. I did not enforce it at the beginning of the year- that’s on me. November will be a good time to get back on track. I appreciate your support in ensuring that students arrive at school consistently on time.

2. RRW- Red Ribbon Week begins this week. A big thanks to our committee of teachers that put this week together for the kids. We will enjoy fun dress up days, red ribbon scavenger hunts, and learn more about being healthy and thinking positively!

3. Call me crazy… but I am starting up a Bracelet Making Club! The goal is to make 400 bracelets with the letters of the fruit of the spirit (L-love, J-joy, etc.) For those students interested in participating, we will spend recess twice a week making bracelets. We will craft enough for students and staff to help us remember our yearly prayer verse. I floated the idea out to the kids last week and there’s lots of excitement for the bracelet club! Should be fun 🙂

4. Overwhelmed with the response to my recess duty email. Thank you so much! I know it isn’t possible for all families. Please know your love and support is felt in many ways… and greatly appreciated.

5. Quarter 1 Report Cards will go home on Friday, October 25. Please empty the envelope, sign the cover, and return it to school. Thank you!

6. Hope to see you at PTO’s Trunk or Treat event on Friday. See the attached flyer for more information.

7. If you weren’t able to make the Educational Apparel Event last week (or if they didn’t have the sizes you need), be sure to jump online for your uniform needs- EDUCATIONAL APPAREL WEBSITE

8. Please note a uniform change for Friday, November 1- With it being All Saints Day Mass, I would like the students in uniform. We will do First Friday OOU on Friday, November 8. I will be sure to send lots of reminders as it gets closer. (We will be doing our All Saints Day Procession again! More details to come tomorrow!)

Previous Reminders:

1. Please continue to closely monitor your cafeteria balances.

2. Please write your family name in uniform sweatshirts and coats for easier return. Thank you!

3. Starting in November, K-5th Grade Students must wear uniform pants. I want to give you this heads up so you have a few weeks to double check pants, gym sweats, and leggings/tights (for under jumpers, skirts, skorts).

Have a wonderful week!

Sincerely,

Mrs. Trentman
