Mr. O’s Weekly News

February 5, 2022

Hello Falcon Families!

COVID Corner:

  • Current Case Rates
    • Local: 1,005 (v. 1,984 last week)
    • County: 1,391 (v. 2,329 last week)
    • State: 949 (v. 1,582 last week)
  • ODH February 26 Update
    • The update was more of a convenience allowance than it was a recommendation or guidance update.
    • ODH is allowing schools to discontinue “universal” contact tracing due to the increased number of Omicron cases and the amount of time it takes school staff to track all of these cases.
    • ODH still recommends schools follow ODH’s previous Mask-to-Stay/Test-to-Play Guidelines.  These are the same guidelines we have been following for most of this school year. Students who are exposed to COVID-19 in the school are allowed to stay in school if they mask for 10 days.

Re-Enrollment for current students is now open.  You should have received an email from Mrs. Thompson this week.  If you did not, please email Mrs. Thompson.

Archdiocesan Scholarships

  • The Catholic Education Foundation (CEF) is excited to offer a limited number of Welcome Scholarships to Pre-School or Kindergarten students who are the first of their family to attend a Catholic school.
  • The CEF’s Needs-Based Scholarship application window closes tomorrow February 6th.

Parent/Teacher Conferences

  • Please only register for a conference, if a teacher requests a conference with you or you have a specific concern/need.  You are always welcome to contact teachers for general updates, however, we prefer to reserve these two days of conferences for specific needs.
  • Registration information will be sent at the end of this coming week.
  • Thursday 2/17 (In-Person): 3:00pm-4:30pm and 5:30pm-7:00pm
  • Friday 2/18 (Virtual): 8:30am-11:30am

Out of Uniform Day (Friday February 11) will be Orange & Black Day.

Catholic Schools Week Sequel (Friday, February 25) will include All-School Bingo and dress as anything that begins with the first letter of your name or last name: (ex. Michael = macaroni, or Bella = ballerina, or David = dinosaur, Plummer = peacock)
