Mr. O’s Weekly News

December 9, 2020

Happy Feast Day of St. Juan Diego!

I am sending this week’s letter early, so you can think about next week’s learning model and plan for this Friday, if necessary.

Pre & Post Christmas Break Model Considerations

  • If students want to learn at home the week before break, they should take their distance learning materials home with them this Friday, so they can start livestreaming on Monday December 14th.
  • If students want to learn at home the week after break, they should take their distance learning materials home with them next Friday, so they can start livestreaming on Monday January 4th.

At-Home Learning Reminders

  • Please contact the office in advance of absences, doctor’s appointments, etc. just as you would if your student was an in-school learner.
  • The school day starts at 7:50AM with announcements and all students should be present either in school or online.
  • Art Class: please make sure you are picking up art supplies for your at-home learner as needed. Mr. Rasor informs at-home learners of needed materials ahead of time and then places those materials in the blue tub outside the main office doors.

January Registration

  • We will send another learning model registration form on December 30th at 12:00 Noon.
  • At that time, every student should register as an in-school or at-home learner for the month of January.
  • At the end of January, students can switch between models with a one week notice.

Quarantine Guideline Update

  • The CDC, Ohio Health, and Public Health Dayton & Montgomery County have updated their quarantine guidelines.
  • Here is the full Public Health Department’s Quarantine Document.
  • The document states, “a 14-day quarantine period presents the lowest risk of post-quarantine transmission.” Therefore, St. Christopher School will maintain a 14-day quarantine policy and will not implement the 10-7 options.

Guadías aka Guadalupe Days has been going on all week!

This Friday is “Wear Blue 4 Mary Day.” This is an Out of Uniform Day, but students must wear a piece of blue clothing in honor of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Any piece of clothing and any shade of blue will do.

  • City Barbeque Miller Lane, 6549 Miller Lane, Dayton OH 45414, (937) 200-1660
