8/25 Monday Message

Hello Falcon Families!

Happy Monday 🙂

I plan to send a Monday Message to give you a glimpse into the happenings of the week.

Calendar:

A Few Things:

1. A great job with Drop Off and Pick Up last week! Thank you for following the procedures and getting the kids to and from school safely. Really, thank you for rolling with the system! A reminder that if your child cannot exit the car on their own, please use the Walk-In Parking Lot to walk them in. Thank you.

2. I have attached a more detailed SC Calendar for the 25-26 School Year. It has some bigger events, picture days, etc. on there. Thanks for your patience as we pulled the dates together.

3. On Friday, the staff and students participated in a Stations Activity around the school building. Our fabulous 8th Graders put on little skits at big locations around campus (hallway, stairs, cafeteria, playground, etc.) to demonstrate the behaviors and expectations in our building. Everyone did a great job! This year we will be focusing on our 4 Bs… Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Be  Safe, and Be a Problem Solver.  BEEEEE…. BUZZZZZ!

4. Prayer Families have started! Prayer Families combine students in different grade levels to sit together at Mass. They participate in various activities together and become a little unit for the year. We met with our new families last week. The kids did a name game activity before learning about their Saint and decorating their pew banners. There is nothing sweeter than walking around the building watching the big kids guide the littles on activities. We have our first All School Mass tomorrow. To help with the transition, we wait to send Kindergarteners to Mass until October.

5. Our new Bible Verse for the year is John 15:12 “This is my commandment: Love one another as I love you.” This will be our inspiration for the SChirt and other activities throughout the year.

6. The SChirt Day is a tradition started a few years ago. After prayer and reflection, a Bible Verse emerges. This verse is the inspiration for the SChirt design. While we do not have the new SChirt for this school year yet, children are encouraged to wear a former SChirt with uniform bottoms on Fridays. If you do not have a SChirt, no problem! Regular uniform is perfect.

Previous Reminders:
1. Recess volunteers are needed. These volunteers provide a much needed break for our teachers. Plus, we can never have enough eyes out on the playground. Please contact Mrs. Schindler if you are available- jschindler@sc.sgfp.org.

2. If you believe you qualify for Free/Reduced lunch, please complete the form as soon as possible. If you were eligible last year, you still must complete a new form for the new school year. Free/Reduced Meals Application This must be completed by September 15, 2025.

Have a wonderful week!

Here if you need anything!

Sincerely,
Mrs. Trentman
